Kent School is seeking a Food Service Worker – Deli Cook to join our Dining Services team. • Have a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience, preferably in a busy cafeteria or food service environment.
• Hold a ServSafe certification or be willing to obtain one (training will be provided if necessary).
• Demonstrated punctuality and regular attendance.
• Ability to work on a smoke-free campus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all necessary food items for service, including slicing meats and cheeses, creating salads, and preparing spreads.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked deli station throughout service.
• Assist with the preparation of items supporting the hot line menu as needed.
• Inspect food for taste, quality, freshness, and presentation.
• Recommend improvements to enhance quality, flavor, and cost efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including proper food handling and FIFO practices.
• Take ownership of station refrigeration and storage areas, ensuring proper labeling and organization.
• Support other dining stations and perform additional duties as assigned.
