About The Position

In this role you will be responsible for preparing and serving food, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are met. This position involves direct interaction with patients, nursing staff, and other food service team members to ensure timely and accurate meal delivery and to address any meal-related issues. The role also includes inventory management and adherence to all relevant regulations and practices.

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Previous food service experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or institutional setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and portion food and beverages following standardized recipes and menus.
  • Assemble patient meal trays accurately according to dietary orders and preferences.
  • Deliver meals to patient rooms or designated areas promptly and courteously.
  • Serve food in cafeteria or retail areas, maintaining quality presentation and customer service.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and equipment using proper sanitation procedures.
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, kitchen surfaces, and dining areas.
  • Follow infection control, food safety, and personal hygiene practices.
  • Monitor food temperatures and storage conditions to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with unpacking, stocking, and rotating food and supply deliveries.
  • Report low stock levels or expired items to supervisors.
  • Ensure proper labeling and storage of all food items.
  • Work collaboratively with dietitians, cooks, and other food service staff.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff to resolve meal-related issues.
  • Respond to patient and visitor inquiries with professionalism and care.
