About The Position
UW Medicine-Montlake- Food and Nutrition has an outstanding opportunity for a Barista. The Nutrition and Food Services department supports UW Medicine's mission by delivering extraordinary experiences with compassionate evidence-based care, unforgettable customer service, and fresh and nutritious food for patients, families, and the greater community. This role performs routine work in preparing and serving espresso beverages and food items and cleaning activities. It also performs a variety of duties in the preparation and service of espresso beverages and food items.
Requirements
- Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment
- One year of experience preparing and serving food and beverage
- Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve coffee and espresso
- Weigh, prepare, and serve meals
- Clean work area and equipment
- Take cash payment for meals and drinks
- Operate cooking, espresso and kitchen equipment
- Assist in maintaining daily stock of work area and weekly inventory
- Perform related duties as required
