About The Position

The Food Services Worker 2 is a non-supervisory position working under a Food Service Supervisor and the Food Service Manager, following all established State and institutional guidelines, rules, and laws. This position participates in basic quality food preparation, serving to residents and staff visitors, cleaning of food service areas following established methods and procedures, and is primarily responsible for dishwashing, kitchen cleaning, and mopping of food department floors.

  • Methods and techniques to comply with sanitation and safety codes and limitations in place by a special diet.
  • Preparing basic food products with minimal waste
  • Operation of various food service equipment
  • Interpersonal communication on various levels to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Maintain the highest level of cleaning competencies in relation to the kitchen, dishes, and food service area
  • Establish good working relationships
  • Present and serve food in an attractive and timely manner

  • Read, write, and speak English.
  • Valid Class | Arizona Fingerprint Card.
  • Valid Arizona Food Handler's permit.
  • Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

Responsibilities

  • Variety of cleaning tasks, including dishwashing and kitchen cleaning, mopping of food department floors, cleaning, and maintaining employee's kitchen restrooms.
  • Participates in maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment, cleaning the dining room tables, food carts and related equipment, and may include some restocking of infirmary ward refrigerators.
  • Assists in the preparing and serving of attractive and nutritious temperature-maintained resident meals; follows daily menu plans, makes acceptable substitutions both in the dining room and on infirmary carts.
  • Participates and assists in the preparation of basic quality food as directed by the Supervisor, adhering to standardized recipes, preparation methods, sanitation standards under the guidance of the Food Supervisor.
