About The Position

This position is responsible for operating a commercial motor vehicle in the delivery and pick-up of food and related supplies to various school sites. The Food Service Truck Driver ensures timely and safe transportation of goods, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role involves loading and unloading of materials, maintaining the vehicle, and providing excellent customer service to school staff.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B.
Clean driving record.
Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening.
Experience in driving commercial vehicles.
Knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Completion of a three (3) year work history in the application, including periods of unemployment, schooling, and volunteer work.

Nice To Haves

Experience in food service or delivery.
Forklift operation experience.

Responsibilities

Operate a commercial motor vehicle to transport food and supplies to and from school sites.
Load and unload food and supplies, ensuring proper handling and storage.
Follow assigned delivery and pick-up routes and schedules.
Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Maintain the cleanliness and basic maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
Report any vehicle issues or maintenance needs promptly.
Maintain accurate logs and delivery records.
Provide courteous and professional service to school staff.
Assist with inventory management and stock rotation as needed.
