About The Position

The Food Service Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of food products to Raymond Kansasville Elementary School. This position is responsible for operating a commercial vehicle to transport meals while maintaining strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards. The driver acts as a key liaison between the food service department and the school, providing excellent customer service to staff and students. By managing delivery schedules efficiently, the Food Service Driver helps support the overall nutrition program and contributes to the well-being of the school community. This role requires a dependable individual who prioritizes safety, quality, and professionalism in every aspect of their work.

Requirements

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Demonstrated experience operating commercial vehicles safely.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards relevant to food transportation.
• Ability to follow detailed delivery schedules and maintain accurate records.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with school staff.
• Ability to do simple arithmetic
• Ability to make correct change and use a basic computation device
• Demonstrates integrity and respects confidentiality
• Dependable, punctual
• An independent self-starter able to meet deadlines
• Maintain a professional appearance
• Follows food safety requirements/guidelines
• Successfully pass a criminal background check

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in food service or school nutrition programs.
• Certification in food safety (e.g., ServSafe or equivalent).
• Familiarity with the Raymond Kansasville Elementary School or local delivery routes.
• Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
• Ability to use GPS and route planning tools effectively.
• Food Service experience preferred
• customer service experience desired

Responsibilities

• Operate a commercial vehicle safely and in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies to deliver food products to the designated school location.
• Ensure all food items are handled and transported following established food safety and sanitation guidelines to prevent contamination or spoilage.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, including times, quantities, and any discrepancies or issues encountered during transport.
• Communicate effectively with food service staff and school personnel to coordinate delivery schedules and address any concerns promptly.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues to ensure the vehicle remains in good working condition.
