Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Active Food Handler’s Card (required)
  • Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and commitment to food safety
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Work in varying conditions including heat, cold, and busy kitchen environments
  • Must be able to distinguish taste, smell, and visual quality of food

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience in food service or quantity cooking

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve hot and cold food items according to menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines
  • Review menus and complete production sheets based on physician-ordered diets
  • Maintain accurate records following IDDSI guidelines and department standards
  • Follow HACCP procedures to ensure safe food handling and prevent foodborne illness
  • Present food in an appealing manner using proper portion control
  • Store food and supplies according to safety and sanitation standards
  • Assist with inventory, stocking, and receiving deliveries
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
  • Follow infection control and universal precautions
  • Assist with daily cleaning tasks and department projects
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, staff, and visitors
  • Operate cash register and run daily dietary reports in CPSI
  • Participate in training and maintain compliance with all policies
