About The Position

This position is responsible for safe and sanitary food preparation and service while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all Tyson policies and procedures. The Team member in this role has a primary responsibility to prepare and cook food for the Tyson Café. Food preparation will be accomplished using daily prep lists, recipes, menus and direction from managers, food prep duties include assessing food quality, washing, cutting, and seasoning foods. Food is prepared through a variety of cooking methods including roasting, frying, steaming, sauteing, braising and more. Other aspects of the job may include tasks such as receiving and rotating supplies, working food action stations, café guest interaction, and occasionally assist with dish washing and catering.

  • Ability to push, pull, lift or carry up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop and reach frequently for the duration of shift.
  • Ability to walk or stand for 8 hours on hard surfaces.
  • Ability to withstand routine and repetitive work for the duration of shift.
  • Ability to tolerate hot and cold temperatures for extended periods of time, while performing job functions.
  • Ability to work safely and unrestricted with ware-washing and kitchen equipment.

  • Currently working at this facility or complex only.
  • Max of two previous Tyson employments to be considered for hire.
  • 180 days (6 months) waiting period.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong desire to grow knowledge and gain proficiency in culinary techniques.
  • SERV safe or food handlers' certification is preferred, but NOT required.
