Food Service Teacher - School Chef
About The Position
Primrose School of Lake Nona is hiring a Food Service Teacher, also described as a School Chef, to prepare delicious, nutritious food for young children. The role supports children’s health, nutrition, exploration, play, and development by encouraging healthy eating habits and providing high-quality care during their first five years. The position is based at Primrose School of Lake Nona in Orlando, Florida. Compensation is $16.00–$18.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation and kitchen management.
- Strong skills in inventory management and control.
- Ability to manage food service and catering operations.
- Experience supervising and leading kitchen teams.
- Knowledge of dietary requirements and food production.
Responsibilities
- Prepare nutritious food for children.
- Encourage healthy eating habits through delicious and nutritious foods.
- Maintain awareness of children’s allergies and food restrictions.
- Follow the daily menu prepared in collaboration with or by the Director.
- Assist with ordering food and calculating the amount needed.
