About The Position

This is a part-time, professional position on a residential campus at Devereux GA Kennesaw, GA. The role involves working as a member of the food services team to provide nutritional meals and safeguard the health of residential clients, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include preparing and serving food according to established menus, monitoring food usage and preparing additional quantities as needed, and properly storing dietary supplies. The position also requires noting and reporting safety issues, participating in monthly Environment of Care inspections, and ensuring compliance with Joint Commission Standards of care. Devereux GA is a residential facility for adolescents with advanced developmental and behavioral diagnoses. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read at 12th grade level.
  • At least one year of food preparation experience in an institutional setting.
  • Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds, walk, run, stoop, kneel, push/pull and reach above shoulders.
  • Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings which include: Drug Screen, Physical, Physical Abilities Test, TB Test and Influenza Vaccine.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional training in food preparation preferred.
  • Previous experience with the National Lunch Program is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a member of the food services team to provide nutritional meals and safeguard the health of residential clients, staff, and visitors.
  • Prepare and serve food in accordance with established menus.
  • Monitor the use of food and prepare additional quantities as needed.
  • Properly store dietary supplies according to department procedures.
  • Note any safety issues which will require immediate notification of Program Coordinator or School Office.
  • Participate in Monthly Environment of Care inspections and ensure compliance with Joint Commission Standards of care.
