About The Position

Ebenezer is looking for a Food Service Supervisor to join our team! This position supports the Director of Nutrition by leading and directing Nutrition Services team members; along with planning, organizing, purchasing food, enforcing proper food handling, sanitation practices and promoting a safe working environment. This nutrition services schedule includes; 80 hours per two weeks, Day/evening shift, and every other weekend. Ebenezer Ridges Care Center highlights a full continuum of care campus including Transitional Care, Adult Day Programs, Intergenerational Child Care, Long Term Care, Enhanced Care and Assisted Living/Memory Care. We are located across the street from Fairview Ridges Hospital at the I-35E and I-35W split in Burnsville, MN. Requirements

  • Supervisor experience & institutional cooking
  • Purchasing experience
  • 1 year
  • Approved Food Sanitation Safety Course. Accept Food Sanitation Safety Course from the following companies (must be obtained within 90-days of hire date): • Serv Safe • Always Food Safe • TAP Series, LLC • Advanced Health Institute

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational School or A.A./A.S.
  • Certified Dietary Manager or Dietetic Technician Certification

Responsibilities

  • Leads and directs team members.
  • Understands responsibilities of all positions in the department.
  • Trains, redirects and assists employees as needed.
  • Recommends changes in techniques for a more efficient operation.
  • Enforces proper work habits which includes but isn’t limited to: food handling, hand washing, sanitation, lifting techniques, body mechanics and safe use of chemicals.
  • Contributes to facilities positive employee relations environment by expressing appreciation of employees, by treating them with dignity and respect, and by answering questions or resolving complaints whenever possible.
  • Purchasing and receiving food, supplies and equipment.
  • Orders food, supplies, and equipment as needed for department and others.
  • Assures that food, supplies and equipment are checked in upon receipt to assure that specifications are met.
  • Assures stock is put away appropriately.
  • Follows up on incomplete deliveries and/or damaged products for credit.
  • Sets up order guide for food purchasing.
  • Assists in meeting needs when there is a lack of food.
