About The Position
The Oklahoma Forensic Center (OFC) in Vinita, Oklahoma, is a secure, 24-hour/365-day inpatient forensic facility providing jail competency services for the State of Oklahoma. The facility has 268 beds for consumers found incompetent for adjudication or adjudicated not guilty by reason of insanity. The Food Service Specialist I works in the OFC Food Service department. Duties may include handling, preparing, cooking, and serving food for regular, modified, and special diets, as well as maintaining clean and sanitary work, preparation, and serving areas. The position is full-time, non-exempt, and pays $14.66 per hour, with shift differentials when applicable. Primary working hours are 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m. and 11:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.; hours and location may vary according to business necessity. The agency provides coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and employees may be required to work weekends and overtime.
Requirements
- Level 1 has no minimum qualifications or experience requirements.
- Must be willing and able to fulfill job-related travel and have a valid driver's license.
- Upon a conditional offer, must pass a physical examination and meet the physical requirements of occasionally lifting or carrying 50 pounds, frequently lifting or carrying 20 pounds, and pushing or pulling a maximum force of 50 pounds.
- Applicants for safety-sensitive positions must submit to pre-employment and pre-placement urinalysis drug testing upon a conditional offer; appointment is contingent on a negative result.
- May be required to work weekends and overtime.
