About The Position

Serves meals to Harbor Light clients and maintains a sanitary kitchen as well as providing housekeeping services which include general cleaning, trash removal, dusting, mopping and vacuuming of the facility.

Requirements

Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
Possess current Food Service Handler and/or ServSafe certification and knowledge of HACCP standards
Must have knowledge and experience in the areas of food service and housekeeping.
Valid Michigan Chauffeur License and approved by The Salvation Army MVR B. test and police clearance required

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain the kitchen according to acceptable food service standards.
Properly handle and work with food in a clean, efficient, and sanitary manner.
Set up and serve meals to clients.
Maintain and monitor food temperatures through complete food handling process.
Do all dishes after the meal is served.
Pick up and deliver client meals.
Sweep and mop kitchen and dining room.
Clean and sanitize counters, steamers, warmer, juice machine, coffee, milk machine, sinks, cooler, freezer and dishwasher.
Regularly inventory and order stock and supplies.
Fill any requests needed throughout the building from each department.
Maintains cleanliness of all areas of the facility.
Empties trash containers.
Ensure an adequate amount of cleaning and client room supplies are on hand at all times.
Use universal precautions when cleaning body spills and bodily fluids.
