The Food Service Helper assists in the preparation and service of quality food to students in a quick and pleasant manner and assists in the collection of funds for meals to deposit. This role supports the mission of Joplin Schools and the value of education. The employee is expected to become familiar with, enforce, and follow all applicable Board policies and regulations, administrative procedures, and state and federal laws. They must obey all safety rules, care for school property, and maintain courteous and professional relationships with students, parents/guardians, other district employees, and the public. Effective communication, excellent customer service, and compliance with privacy rights are essential. The role requires reacting to change productively, participating in professional development, and conducting official business professionally. Employees must arrive and leave work at the specified time and attend required meetings. Accurate record-keeping, problem-solving using math functions, and interpreting documents are also key aspects of the job.
