To perform skilled work in the preparation and service of nutritionally adequate, reimbursable meals, being responsible for meeting production deadlines and assuming responsibility for the quality of food products. This role involves following daily work schedules for food production, service, and cleaning, and participating in ongoing state-approved training and educational initiatives related to Food & Nutrition Services. The position requires demonstrating and promoting exceptional customer service, operating point-of-sale systems according to federal guidelines, and adhering to food safety rules, departmental procedures, and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) to ensure a safe work environment. Kitchen duties include pre-preparation, food production, service, backup, clean-up, and checking in orders. The role also assists in ensuring safe meal service with good quality food according to approved meal pattern requirements, and aids with ordering, proper storage, and inventories. Responsibilities include following written recipes, recording preparation details, operating food service equipment safely, maintaining a clean work environment, and ensuring sanitation practices are adhered to, including personal hygiene standards. Additionally, the role may involve driving vans to satellite sites for food delivery and performing other duties as assigned.
