To perform skilled work in the preparation and service of nutritionally adequate, reimbursable meals. This role is responsible for meeting production deadlines and ensuring the quality of food products. The Food & Nutrition Services General Worker (Assistant I) follows daily work schedules for food production, service, and cleaning, and participates in ongoing state-approved training and educational initiatives related to Food & Nutrition Services. The position requires demonstrating and promoting exceptional customer service, using good judgment, and professionalism when interacting with students, parents, and staff. Adherence to food safety rules, departmental procedures, and HACCP is critical, along with performing kitchen duties such as pre-preparation, food production, service, backup, clean-up, and inventory management. The role also involves driving vans and refrigerated/freezer trucks between sites for food delivery and supply management. All activities must be performed in compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies.
