To perform skilled work in the preparation and service of nutritionally adequate, reimbursable meals and being responsible for meeting production deadlines and assume responsibility for the quality of food products. The Food & Nutrition Services General Worker (Assistant I) shall carry out essential performance responsibilities including following daily work schedules for food production, service, and cleaning, participating in on-going state-approved training, demonstrating and promoting exceptional customer service, operating point-of-sale systems according to federal guidelines, adhering to food safety rules, departmental procedures, and HACCP, performing kitchen duties as assigned, assisting in ensuring safe meal service with good quality food, assisting with ordering, storage, and inventories, following recipes and recording food preparation details, operating food service equipment safely, maintaining a clean work environment, ensuring sanitation practices are adhered to, driving vans to satellite sites for food delivery, gas, and cleaning, driving refrigerated/freezer trucks between sites, performing and promoting all activities in compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies, participating in training programs, reviewing current developments, and ensuring adherence to safety rules and procedures.
