About The Position

This role involves a variety of tasks within a food service environment, with a primary focus on food preparation and kitchen support. Key responsibilities include preparing hot and cold food items, performing prep tasks like measuring and chopping, ensuring food is prepared and served at proper temperatures, and maintaining portion control to minimize waste. The position also requires adherence to food safety and quality assurance procedures, including HACCP guidelines and temperature logs. Cleaning and sanitation are core responsibilities, encompassing washing and storing dishes, maintaining dishwashing and garbage areas, and ensuring all work areas and equipment are clean. Additionally, the role involves cashier duties, operating a POS system, processing transactions accurately, and providing friendly customer service. General responsibilities include representing the company professionally, following company policies and safety regulations, completing training, and collaborating with team members for smooth operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assist with the production of hot and cold food items including short order items, and grab-and-go products following standardized recipes and station guidelines
  • Perform prep tasks such as measuring, portioning, chopping, and assembling ingredients
  • Ensure food is prepared and served at proper temperatures and meets quality standards
  • Maintain portion control and minimize food waste
  • Replenish food items and supplies during service as required
  • Follow all HACCP, food safety, and quality assurance procedures, including temperature logs and production records
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations before, during, and after service
  • Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, pots, pans, and utensils in accordance with health and safety standards
  • Maintain dishwashing areas, garbage stations, and kitchen spaces according to master cleaning schedules
  • Remove garbage, recycling, and compost and dispose of waste safely
  • Ensure all work areas, equipment, and smallwares are clean, sanitized, and organized at all times
  • Assist with deep cleaning and ongoing sanitation of kitchen and service areas
  • Operate a POS system (cash register), processing cash, debit and credit transactions accurately
  • Enter all items into the system to ensure accurate sales recording
  • Provide receipts and ensure efficient, timely service
  • Interact with customers in a friendly, professional manner and resolve inquiries or concerns
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas, including restocking condiments and supplies
  • Represent Compass Group in a courteous, efficient, and professional manner
  • Follow all company policies, health & safety regulations, and quality assurance standards
  • Complete required training programs within designated timelines
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen and service operations
