Food Service Delivery Driver
About The Position
The Food Service Delivery Driver is responsible for loading and unloading all meals to each site in a timely fashion, maintaining the overall cleanliness of the van, and assisting in kitchen cleaning if time permits. This role involves handling dishes, labeling warmers/coolers for delivery, and potentially picking up products from local grocery stores. Daily loading and unloading of warmers/coolers, which can weigh up to 50lbs, is a key responsibility. The position requires a valid chauffeur's license with a good driving record and availability Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- One to three months of previous delivery driving experience and/or training preferred
- Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles
- Valid Michigan Driver's License
- Valid Chauffeur's License
- Clean Driving Record
- State of Michigan criminal background clearance (ICHAT)
- Blood Borne Pathogen training
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification required within the first 60 days
- First Aid Certification required within the first 60 days

Responsibilities
- Properly labels warmers/coolers for delivery to each site
- Assists in placing prepared meals in their proper containers
- Maintains and cleans the van while properly filling out the vehicle check list
- Keeps records of the deliveries for each day
- Drives delivery van to numerous off-sites safely and in a timely fashion
- Efficiently loads and unloads warmers/coolers into the vehicle for delivery
- Communicates in a professional manner with each site coordinator
- Performs any other functions deemed to be necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids Association
