Summary: Responsible for the day-to-day food service operations of the Family Life Child and Family Development Center. Safely transports children to and from center, in van. Rides as bus monitor, as needed.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent General Studies Required
  • Years of Experience: Less than 1 year of successful experience in related field or combination of education and experience
  • Certifications and Licensure: Possess a Valid Kentucky Driver's License and Maintain a Safe Driving Record Required
  • CAP Driving Certification (or ability to obtain within first 90 days) Required
  • CPR and First Aid (or ability to obtain) Required
  • Non-Contagious TB Test Result Required
  • Food Handler Required
  • In order to drive personal vehicle on CAP business, must obtain and maintain a policy of motor vehicle insurance coverage on privately-owned vehicle with insurance coverage amounts of $50,000 bodily injury per person per accident; $100,000 bodily injury for all bodily injuries per accident; and $50,000 property damage per accident.
  • Ability to reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, stand, walk
  • Lift 50 lb from floor and carry 40 ft and place on shelf at 36 inches
  • Lift 18 lb from floor to shelf at 102 inch, using a step ladder if needed
  • Push with 45 lb of force for 5 ft
  • Lifts/moves items with unknown weight or that are awkward shapes and sizes with assistance
  • Have good visual acuity with corrective lenses
  • Have good hearing capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and serves breakfast, lunch and snacks according to the center’s daily schedule.
  • Follows appropriate portion sizes and nutritional guidelines.
  • Delivers meals to classrooms and maintains timely service.
  • Implements weekly menus that meet federal nutrition and state licensing requirements.
  • Posts menus and communicates menu changes as needed.
  • Completes and maintains required records in accordance with the Federal Food Program guidelines and regulations, including meal counts and attendance in a timely manner.
  • Maintains strict adherence to sanitation and food safety standards.
  • Keeps accurate logs for temperatures, cleaning and food storage.
  • Labels and dates all food items; monitors expirations dates and storage requirements.
  • Maintains inventory of food, places orders with approved vendors and completes the grocery shopping.
  • Stays within budget while minimizing waste.
  • Assists with participant transport by serving as a bus monitor with 3–5-year-old children as needed.
