About The Position

The Cafeteria Lunch Aide/Monitor supervises students during cafeteria lunch periods and outdoor recess, helping maintain a safe, clean, and orderly environment while providing positive guidance and assistance. The ideal candidate is dependable, attentive, courteous, and enjoys working with children.

The position includes monitoring students in the cafeteria and on the playground, helping keep lunch periods orderly, cleaning and disinfecting cafeteria tables, and assisting students as they move between the cafeteria, recess, and the school building. The aide is expected to follow company and school safety procedures, attend requested training, report to work on time and in proper attire, and treat students, staff, coworkers, and customers respectfully. Additional duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Monitor students entering and exiting the cafeteria.
• Supervise students waiting in line for meals.
• Help maintain order and appropriate noise levels during lunch periods.
• Treat students, staff, and coworkers in a courteous and respectful manner.
• Clean cafeteria tables between lunch periods.
• Clean and disinfect all cafeteria tables after the final lunch period.
• Assist with dismissing and directing students out of the cafeteria for recess.
• Monitor students during outdoor recess.
• Encourage safe and appropriate playground behavior.
• Help maintain a safe environment for all students.
• Lead and assist students back into the school building following recess.
• Report to work as scheduled, on time, and in proper attire with excellent personal hygiene.
• Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Follow all company and school safety rules and procedures.
• Participate in monthly and annual training sessions as requested by the company.
• Upon completion of assigned duties, report to the immediate supervisor before signing out.
• Treat fellow associates, students, school staff, and customers with respect, kindness, and professionalism.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
