About The Position

These positions assume responsibility for preparing or assisting in preparation, cooking, and serving a variety of foods in an elementary or secondary school food service program. This position is for the "Main Dish".

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to take oral and written instructions and follow through efficiently and to work well with others.
• Some experience and knowledge of quantity food preparation and use of equipment used in quantity food preparation.
• Willing and able to lift and carry items or objects weighing up to 50 pounds and up to 55 pounds with assistance.
• Willing and able to withstand a wide range of temperatures (hot, non-air-conditioned environment and freezer).
• Willing and able to stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Preparing or assisting in preparation, cooking, and serving a variety of foods in an elementary or secondary school food service program.
• Operating commercial kitchen equipment.
• Using cleaning chemicals.
