About The Position

The Food Service Assistant at Classical Charter School is responsible for ensuring a safe, orderly, and positive environment during meal times and recess. Demonstrate proficiency in both written and spoken English to effectively perform their job responsibilities and communicate in the workplace.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Must be able to traverse the classroom and the school.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, or standing.
Must be able to supervise outdoor recess.
Mandatory background checks, including criminal records review and fingerprinting.
Verification of qualifications and reference checks.
Adherence to Colorado Education Laws.

Responsibilities

Monitor students during lunch and recess to ensure their safety and appropriate behavior.
Enforce school rules and policies to maintain a respectful and orderly environment.
Address any behavioral issues promptly and report them to the appropriate school staff.
Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where all students feel safe and respected.
Encourage positive social interactions among students and help mediate conflicts when necessary.
Assist students with any needs or issues that arise during breakfast, lunch and recess.
Ensure all playground and cafeteria areas are safe and free of hazards.
Provide basic first aid when necessary and report any injuries to school administration.
Be prepared to respond to emergencies in accordance with school policies and procedures.
Assist in the setup and cleanup of the cafeteria before and after meal periods.
Encourage students to clean up after themselves and maintain cleanliness in eating and play areas.
Report any maintenance or repair needs to the school administration.
Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents as needed.
Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Collaborate with other aides and school personnel to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment.
Maintain a collegial, professional relationship with students, parents, and colleagues as a partner in the community of learners.
Assist staff and volunteers in inventory control.
Serve food per breakfast and lunch guidelines.
Support the tracking of students participating in the breakfast and lunch program.
Clean and sanitize the multi-purpose room.
Support teachers and staff in maintaining an orderly lunch room environment.
