About The Position

The Dining Services Department at Salisbury University is accepting applications for Food Service Assistant (Part-Time Contingent I) positions in Dining Services in an effort to maintain a pool of applicants for future openings. Requirements

• Serve Safe or Food Handler and/or Sanitation Certification required by the end of the first contract period/semester
• Ability to assist in preparing and serving food
• Ability to read and write
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations
• Ability to operate food service equipment and appliances
• Ability to use kitchen utensils
• Ability to work in irritating environments and adverse temperature conditions
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to lift, transport and stock food service supplies, materials and equipment
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• One year food service experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Provide routine assistance in the preparation and serving of food
• Set up and break down service lines
• Cashiering
• Maintain safe and sanitary conditions
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, mixers, toasters, etc.
• Consistently demonstrates excellent customer service skills to all internal and external customers
• Other duties as assigned
