About The Position

The Food Service Assistant performs food-service duties including monitoring and recording food temperatures, setting up and maintaining clean and sanitized serving areas, preparing and serving food, restocking food areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and processing payments for food and beverages using a computerized register. The role follows Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines, maintains quality-control standards, and provides outstanding customer service while communicating effectively with patrons and coworkers. The position is at Mandan Sunset, a 128-bed senior skilled nursing facility providing long-term and post-acute care. The scheduled shift is 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with every-other-weekend and holiday rotation required. On-the-job training is provided.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
Ability to perform basic math.
Ability to work independently when necessary.
Ability to be on feet for most of the day and walk long distances.
Depending on the location, Serv Safe certification may be required within a designated time frame.
Depending on location requirements, Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required.

Nice To Haves

Previous customer service experience.
Experience counting and reconciling money in a retail setting.
