About The Position

The Kitchen and Hospitality Assistant supports the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World (ISAW) during the academic year (September–June). In this role, the assistant will help with daily lunch and beverage service, prepare food for the Chef, and maintain the kitchens and pantries through basic cleaning, organizational, and food preparation tasks. The position requires a consistent daily schedule and clear communication with ISAW administrative and building staff regarding day-to-day operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in food preparation and/or hospitality
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with regards to required duties
  • Ability to perform required physical tasks
  • Familiarity with basic kitchen appliances, including coffee makers and dishwashers
  • Must be able to communicate effectively but with collegiality about task status and problem areas
  • Capable of maintaining consistent job performance and flexibility and ingenuity to communicate and perform despite obstacles in day-to-day operations
  • Food Handler's Permit

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years Experience with food preparation in educational environment preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and preparation
