About The Position

This role involves preparing and operating the tray assembly line for patient feedings, operating the dish machine, preparing special nourishments, and preparing and delivering trays. The position also includes serving and distributing food, supplies, snacks, and nourishments. Additionally, the Food Service Aide will serve at the service counter in the Employee Cafeteria and/or in the catering area, performing cashier duties. Responsibilities include providing food products and replenishing stations such as the salad bar, soda, pastry, cold food, and hot entrees in the Employee Cafeteria. As a Cashier, the individual will accurately ring up sales, make correct change, and demonstrate knowledge of prices and menu items, adhering to cashiering policies for various customer types. The role also involves routine sanitation and replenishment tasks in the kitchen, cafeteria, and patient service areas according to departmental and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand written instruction.
  • No previous experience required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Three to six months on the job training and orientation.
  • Certification preferred as a Food Handler or similar food safety certification.
  • Analytical ability to read & understand instructions, add & subtract numbers, make comparisons between numbers and letters.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties of Cashier in Employee Cafeteria.
  • Provide food products, fill, breakdown and replenish stations such as salad bar, soda, pastry, cold food and hot entrees in Employee Cafeteria.
  • Ring up sales accurately and make correct change for customers.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of prices and of menu items.
  • Adhere to cashiering policies ensuring all sales accounts are rung up accurately.
  • Ensure all information is entered in cash register accurately on the appropriate key.
  • Perform a wide variety of routine tasks of sanitation/replenishment in the kitchen, cafeteria, and patient service areas according to departmental and regulatory standards.
