About The Position

Beth Israel is looking for a Food Service Aide worker to join the growing BILH team. This role involves performing a variety of duties for the setup, delivery, and servicing of food to patients, ensuring a positive impact on people's lives.

Requirements

• Must possess verbal and written skills to communicate effectively and courteously with a diverse group of professional and non-professional members of the health care team, patients and family/significant others.
• Ability to complete on the job training.
• Ability to read, write and follow written direction in English.
• Must be able to follow instructions.
• Standing and walking throughout the day.
• Some lifting and bending required.
• Pushing and pulling of food tray carts.
• Exposure to hot steam and water.
• Requires use of sharp instruments, exposure to cleaning agents.
• Must be vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of duties for the setup, delivery and servicing of food to patients.
• Follows position-specific job flow, completing all assigned tasks.
• Maintains clean work environment, follows all HACCP requirements and completes daily cleaning assignments.
• Follows all patient tray delivery and retrieval procedures as outlined on job specific job flows.
• Follows all Room Service delivery procedures as outlined on the Room Service Host/Hostess Audit form.
• Follows dish/pot cleaning procedures. Helps put away dishes and pots throughout the day.
• Sets up, delivers, and clears catered events effectively and on time.
• Actively engages in teamwork to help the department run smoothly, assisting others throughout the day.
• Follows all department specific policies and procedures.
