About The Position
Bullis Charter School is seeking a reliable, hardworking Food Service Aide to assist with morning food preparation. This role requires consistent attendance, a strong work ethic, and the ability to perform essential kitchen duties efficiently and cleanly, including moving heavy items. The position is scheduled for 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM daily.
Requirements
- Experience working in a kitchen/food service or hospitality industry.
- Solid experience and knowledge in sanitary practices in a kitchen or hospitality setting.
- Reliable with excellent attendance.
- Detail-oriented and calm under pressure.
- Proactive go-getter with a positive attitude, clear communication skills, and the ability to follow directions.
- Ability to operate independently and change course flexibly in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to build strong relationships and be trusted by all partners.
- Knowledge of basic hygiene and safe food handling practices (Food Handler Card required or willing to obtain upon hire).
- Valid work authorization.
- TB clearance completed within the last 60 days.
- Cleared criminal background check.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Food Service Support with morning prep work, stocking supplies, and serving breakfast.
- Receive and organize daily morning shipments or food deliveries.
- Stock and organize food and beverage trays, frequently weighing up to 40-50 lbs.
- Assist the Food Service Assistant with preparing and cooking food in retherm ovens.
- Sanitize surfaces, clean equipment, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Execute physical tasks as directed to maintain a safe, efficient workspace.
