Food Server - Casual Dining
About The Position
Responsible for taking all food orders and providing service to all guests in an assigned restaurant. This role involves setting tables, ensuring cleanliness and proper placement of tableware, greeting guests, taking food and beverage orders, entering data into a computerized system, serving food and beverages, and ensuring quality service. The server will also periodically check on guests during their meal, remove dishes, present checks, process payments, and assist guests as they leave. Communication with management regarding food issues and stocking of condiments, ice, and side stands are also key responsibilities. Additionally, the server is expected to attend to customer needs such as lighting cigarettes, pulling out chairs, and issuing fresh napkins, and carry specific items as part of the uniform. Special assignments from management may also be requested.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Previous experience dealing with the general public.
Nice To Haves
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous food server experience preferred.
Responsibilities

- Set tables in the assigned station and ensure all glassware, flatware, and china are clean, polished, and properly placed.
- Greet guests after seating and take all orders for food and beverages.
- Enter data into the computerized ordering system.
- Serve food and beverage to guests, assuring quality service at all times.
- Periodically return to the table during the meal to refill glasses, replenish bread and butter, and replace ashtrays.
- Remove all dishes, silverware, and condiments after guests have completed their entrees.
- Present check after the meal is completed, receive payment, and return change.
- Assist guests when they are leaving the dining room.
- Communicate all food problems to management.
- Stock condiments, ice, and side stands when regular duties are complete.
- Attend to the needs of customers by lighting cigarettes, pulling out chairs, issuing a fresh napkin, etc.
- Carry approved corkscrew, pens, and lighters as a standard part of the uniform.
- Complete special assignments for management as requested.
