About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring that all food items requested and necessary supplies are obtained and delivered in a timely manner. The Food Server will coordinate the delivery schedules of amenities, and food and beverage orders to best accommodate the guests. This position provides direction and support to bus persons and facilitates the immediate accommodations of guest requests. The Food Server will follow all applicable safety precautions applicable to food service areas, treat guests with courtesy and respect, and ensure that all items are presented in accordance with department guidelines. This role also involves clocking guests in and out, closing guest checks upon delivery, serving beverages, and performing side work such as filling sugar bowls, salt/pepper shakers, folding napkins, and general organization of storage areas. The Food Server will also complete service preparation functions as required, maintain a clean work environment, be knowledgeable with upcoming events and related hospitality functions, bars and deliveries, and work at a fast pace in a diverse environment. Additionally, the Food Server will perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor, possess knowledge of room service standards, and assist with special events as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Two (2) years of food service experience.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle a 27-inch oval food server’s tray, ranging in weight from 20 to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to move throughout the restaurant continuously during their shift.
  • Ability to push and/or pull 40 to 50 pounds on wheels.
  • Must be able to initiate and engage in conversation in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Must present a professional and pleasant appearance that guests will find appealing and approachable in order to engage in conversation.
  • Ability to familiarize with wine and spirits menu, service, and knowledge.
  • Ability to follow directions.
