The Civic Leadership & Engagement Corps (CLEC) is an AmeriCorps program through Washington Campus Compact (WACC) that aims to empower students with the skills and resources to thrive and become compassionate leaders and engaged citizens. The program recruits AmeriCorps members and student volunteers to provide direct service in Washington and Idaho, focusing on student leadership, campus-community partnerships, civic engagement, and improving student retention and success, particularly for underrepresented students. This role specifically addresses the prevalent issue of food insecurity among Washington State University students, leveraging a student-passed referendum to fund a campus food pantry. The AmeriCorps member will focus on pantry operations, policy development, food procurement, and staff/volunteer support.
