About The Position

Join our team as a Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Your responsibilities will include performing physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems, documenting and calculating results accurately, and taking corrective action when necessary. This includes alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming products, and reporting results to management. You will also handle additional assignments as requested. This role operates in a normal food manufacturing setting and requires the use of specific safety equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in the food manufacturing industry OR related Quality Assurance type experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skills to complete Tyson paperwork.
  • Good problem identification and problem-solving skills.
  • Math and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret product specifications.
  • Must function well under stress.
  • Must have flexibility to work where and when needed.
  • Position involves heavy lifting (50 lbs. or more).
  • Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Must work in cold/hot temperatures.
  • Must be able to work in wet environment.
  • Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing and pulling.
  • Must be able to reach high and low levels, frequently.
  • Ability to climb step ladders and or stairs.
  • Must reside in the United States to be considered.
  • Must not have 4 or more attendance points for locations on an 8 point policy (on application date).
  • No written warning in the past six (6) months.
  • No suspension on record for the last 12 months.
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Performing physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems.

  • Leading by example and motivating the hourly workforce.
  • Completing Tyson paperwork.
  • Reading and interpreting product specifications.
  • Working overtime and weekends.
  • Obtaining Lock Out Tag Out certification.
