This position maintains the highest standards of quality and food safety by monitoring, testing, recording, and reacting to product, production, and process quality data. The role verifies raw materials and finished products comply with federal, state, and company specifications. The technician will produce accurate results while multitasking in a fast-paced work environment, anticipate problems, and maintain a proactive approach to business needs. Responsibilities include completing work assignments by using policies, data, and resources to set priorities, deadlines, and expectations, and collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners. Communication of progress and key information, determining and recommending solutions to improvement opportunities, and adapting to change, difficulties, and feedback are also key aspects of the role. The technician will comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity, implement related action plans, and use the Open Door Policy when needed. Maintaining knowledge of laboratory functions (operations, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair), cross-training within the Food Safety/QA department, and sustaining a calibration program for plant instruments and equipment are essential. A continuous improvement mindset is applied by identifying and correcting process improvement opportunities, conducting statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis, and participating in projects that promote continuous improvement methodologies.
