A Ziegenfelder Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for maintaining food safety and quality systems, programs, and documentation. This role involves assisting with various QA department tasks such as mix making, CIP, equipment cleaning, product quality testing/sampling, and completion of master sanitation schedule tasks. The manager will actively participate in facility discussions, providing food safety and quality call-outs, and is responsible for developing and maintaining qualified personnel within the QA department through organizational development, personnel assessment, training, direction, motivation, and scheduling. This position serves as the SQF Practitioner and PCQI for the plant location, requiring the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, production-focused environment. The role ensures that managers, supervisors, and process owners uphold their responsibilities within the food safety and quality management system. Key duties include managing microbiological and chemistry testing, overseeing the food safety plan and supporting programs, coordinating documentation for compliance with all directives, policies, and procedures, and managing internal lab functions. The manager will provide leadership and training in Quality Assurance and Food Safety, partnering with operations to implement change and quality improvement, and verifying finished product meets quality standards. A significant part of the role involves overseeing the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the SQF System, including food safety fundamentals and the food safety plan, while also working hands-on with the QA team to ensure deliverables are met.
