Spanning nearly 480,000 square feet, this facility will produce approximately 6 million pounds of leafy greens annually.

Requirements

  • Have a 4-year degree in related discipline (Agriculture, food safety, food science, etc
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing food safety & quality programs
  • Minimum 3 years of experience directly managing teams
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication and can create documents such as standard operating procedures, safety rules label mixing instructions
  • Strong knowledge in FDA Food Safety regulations and GFSI certifications (ex. SQF)
  • Exhibit excellent critical thinking skills, leadership skills, lead by example
  • Have the ability to meet the physical requirements of the job including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Be a self-starter and a problem solver with strong relationship building and communication skills
  • Ability to work weekends and nights as needed to support effective implementation of FSQ programs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building or using digital record keeping platforms is a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Effectively and efficiently manage Production processes to ensure the quality of our product, consistency maintaining SQF requirements
  • Collect routine EMP samples (water samples, swabs, product samples and media samples)
  • Train and verify effectiveness of relevant food safety & quality programs to operators and leadership
  • Oversee the sites pest control management system and conduct regular reviews of the system
  • Lead site audits and inspections, both external (ex. SQF) and internal
  • Support the farms in implementation of food safety regulations and policies
  • Perform site GMP inspections and perform required drills & exercises
  • Standardize best practices and creates forms necessary to collect KPIs
  • Verify and review completion of food safety records
  • Manage the farm’s food safety plan
  • Have a willingness and desire to assist in unrelated and/or unassigned tasks to ensure the effective operation of the Greenhouse
  • Perform risk assessments and advise leadership on appropriate recommendations
  • Lead corrective action efforts in identifying RCA and effectively implementing CAPA’s
  • Work cross functionally to safely implement new processes, programs and equipment
  • Build and support a strong food safety culture
  • Complete other duties as assigned
