About The Position

Troubadour Golf & Field Club is seeking a Food Runner to join the Food & Beverage Department. The Food Runner is responsible for pickup and delivery of food and beverage items to appropriate table in a timely manner, as well as persistently clearing plates, glassware and silverware throughout service. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three (3) months of experience in a fine-dining or high-volume environment at a high-end restaurant, resort, or private club.
  • Knowledge of HACCP & local food safety standards; possesses or can obtain State Food Safety Certificate.
  • Knowledgeable of food and beverage operations.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail, quality and service.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of food items to the guest table, taking care to deliver each dish to the proper seat.
  • Clear away anything from the table that isn’t being used and check water glass levels, refill as needed.
  • Replace any silverware as needed throughout service.
  • Check surrounding areas of the restaurant for anything that needs to be cleared.
  • Provide brief explanation of items being delivered to each guest and ask if there’s anything else they may need.
  • Assist kitchen staff as needed to ensure dishes are plated properly, matching the description on the ticket and delivered accurately and efficiently, including any condiments or sauces.
  • Responsible for preparing the runner station for each meal period according to the checklist and consistently restock as needed, keeping the area clean and organized.
  • Be familiar with the menu items and prepared to answer any guest questions.
  • Be familiar with restaurant policies, procedures, training, safety, and security.
  • Adhere to food safety, cleanliness, and safety standards.
  • Attend all briefings, meetings, and trainings as necessary.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
