About The Position

Brown’s Beach House is Fairmont Orchid’s signature AAA Four Diamond fine dining restaurant well known for incomparable Hawaii Regional Cuisine and a spectacular oceanfront setting. Our innovative cuisine draws from simple pure flavors of locally grown produce and a diverse variety of fresh seafood. This role provides unique dining experiences to all of our guests through warm, personal & detailed service in a luxury, upscale and fast paced environment. The Food Runner ensures a positive first impression of the restaurant for our guests through detailed cleanliness, set-up and ambiance control. They are responsible for the distribution and delivery of guest’s food orders out onto the service floor and serving them at their tables to the correct guest. The role requires maintaining complete knowledge of all F&B services, contents & preparation methods, outlets and hotel services/features. The Food Runner will assist servers in proper garnishing of all menu items ordered, maintain cleanliness of all chinaware, and monitor quality and consistency of all menu items being served. Additionally, they will maintain a clean and orderly condition of the service line station, and perform daily requisitions of all food condiments to ensure adequate stock levels of all necessary dishware, linen and condiments for daily service operations. The role also involves trying to remember individual patron’s names and their preferences to extend a personalized service and ensuring that all food & beverage are served according to service standard. Performing opening/closing side duties as assigned and setting all tables according to standards and procedures is also part of the role. The Food Runner will assist other Food & Beverage outlets with their operations during peak times or when required, and apply necessary precautions with regards to the hotel food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP). Being well versed in hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedures and maintaining a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times are crucial. The role may also include performing other reasonable duties assigned by the Management of the Hotel.

Requirements

Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language
Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team
Detailed & service oriented with an eye for detail to be self-motivated and energetic.
Provide the necessary State and Federal Requirements to work in Food and Beverage (Tuberculosis Clearance)
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining U.S. work authorization.

Ability to speak other languages and basic understanding of local languages will be an advantage
