About The Position

Herschend is seeking an enthusiastic and hospitable Food Runner to join the restaurant operations team at Jolene’s, an 85-seat lounge on the top floor of Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel in downtown Nashville. The role supports the opening efforts for the hotel and helps provide excellent dining experiences through proper steps of service while maintaining a positive work environment for fellow hosts and vendors. The ideal candidate is curious, passionate about hospitality, and committed to Herschend’s Heartspitality® culture. The Food Runner assists the service and kitchen teams by transporting complete food orders from the kitchen to the dining room and serving food according to trained guidelines. The position also includes opening and closing the Food Runner station, clearing and resetting tables, inspecting the dining room for cleanliness, maintaining sanitary conditions, participating in daily lineups, and following service standards and current training. The employee must be willing to work in other department disciplines as directed by management.

Requirements

Must be able to obtain Food Handler certification.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must pass a pre-employment background check.

Basic computer knowledge and usage preferred.

Responsibilities

Check with the Manager for daily objectives.
Assist service and kitchen teams by bringing complete food orders from the kitchen to the dining room and serving food according to trained guidelines.
Open and close the Food Runner station efficiently.
Clear and reset tables as needed.
Inspect the dining room for cleanliness.
Provide excellent dining experiences through proper steps of service.
Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in compliance with local and federal health codes.
Work in other disciplines within the department as directed by management.
Participate in daily lineups.
Practice service standards and current training throughout service.
