The Food Runner is primarily responsible for serving guests while providing courteous and prompt table-side service. This role requires the ability to describe all dishes brought to the dining room in a detailed manner and answer pertinent questions. The Food Runner will expedite food from the kitchen to the table as dictated by the sequence of service and by the Chef or kitchen expediter. They will also describe menu features as needed, including changes and additions, and communicate with the expediter to ensure accurate food delivery. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the station and service area, as well as communicating guest needs to the kitchen and management, are key aspects of this role.
