About The Position

The Food Runner is primarily responsible for serving guests while providing courteous and prompt table-side service. This role requires the ability to describe all dishes brought to the dining room in a detailed manner and answer pertinent questions. The Food Runner will expedite food from the kitchen to the table as dictated by the sequence of service and by the Chef or kitchen expediter. They will also describe menu features as needed, including changes and additions, and communicate with the expediter to ensure accurate food delivery. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the station and service area, as well as communicating guest needs to the kitchen and management, are key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • 6+ Months of prior relevant experience in a high-volume restaurant as a food runner or server.
  • Fine dining and three meal restaurant experience.
  • Experience working in a similar resort setting.
  • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve guests while providing courteous and prompt table side service.
  • Describe all dishes brought to the dining room in a detailed manner and answer pertinent questions.
  • Greet guests in a positive, friendly manner, making them feel welcome.
  • Expedite food from the kitchen to the table as dictated by sequence of service and by the Chef or kitchen expediter.
  • Describe food upon placement on the table, answering questions pertaining to the dishes.
  • Describe menu features as needed (include changes and additions).
  • Communicate with expediter to ensure delivery of food to the correct table and position.
  • Perform assigned open and closing side-work.
  • Check dining area, tables and chairs for cleanliness, maintain cleanliness and organization of station and service area.
  • Communicate guest needs to the kitchen and management, provide feedback on guest reactions and comments, and support management in ensuring smooth operations and consistent, high-quality service.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested.
