About The Position

The Food Runner for Nine Fine Irishmen, a pub inside New York, New York, helps deliver an exceptional dining experience through friendly, attentive, and prompt tableside service. The role ensures dishes are delivered accurately and efficiently while creating memorable guest interactions. The Food Runner describes dishes in detail and with enthusiasm, answers guest questions knowledgeably, and supports the restaurant team in maintaining high hospitality standards.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a high-volume dining restaurant as a Food Runner or Server.
• Experience working in a similar resort setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a positive, friendly manner and make them feel welcome.
• Expedite food from the kitchen to the table according to the sequence of service and direction from the Chef or kitchen expediter.
• Describe food when placing it on the table and answer questions about dishes.
• Describe menu features as needed, including changes and additions.
• Communicate with the expediter to ensure food is delivered to the correct table and position.
• Perform assigned opening and closing side work.
• Communicate guest needs to the kitchen and management, share guest reactions and comments with management, and help ensure smooth operations and quality service.
• Check the dining area, tables, and chairs for cleanliness, and maintain a clean and organized station and service area.
