About The Position

Quail Ridge is a premier private country club committed to providing our members and their guests with exceptional food, beverage, service, and hospitality. Our team takes pride in creating warm, memorable experiences while maintaining the professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail expected in an outstanding private club. We are seeking a professional, energetic, and detail-oriented Food Runner to join our Food & Beverage team. The Food Runner is a key member of the dining room team, responsible for ensuring food moves seamlessly from the kitchen to the member's table. This position serves as an important connection between the culinary and service teams and requires a strong sense of urgency, accuracy, communication, and presentation. The ideal candidate understands that timing and attention to detail are essential to an exceptional dining experience.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an upscale restaurant, private club, fine dining establishment, luxury hotel, or high-end hospitality environment preferred but not required.
  • Previous food runner, server assistant, server, or hospitality experience is a plus.
  • Strong interest in hospitality and providing exceptional service.
  • Professional, polished, and approachable demeanor.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to learn and confidently identify menu items.
  • Ability to carry multiple plates and remain on your feet for extended periods.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused during high-volume service.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative.
  • Ability to follow direction and respond positively to coaching.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Food safety certification preferred or may be required based on position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver food from the kitchen to members and guests promptly, accurately, and professionally.
  • Ensure food is delivered to the correct table and seat position.
  • Confirm that dishes are complete, properly presented, and match the order before leaving the kitchen.
  • Communicate with the culinary team regarding missing, incorrect, or incomplete items.
  • Have a thorough understanding of menu items, table numbers, seat positions, allergies, modifications, and special requests.
  • Coordinate with servers, captains, managers, and culinary team members to ensure proper timing of courses.
  • Deliver food using proper service techniques and maintain a professional presentation.
  • Maintain awareness of the dining room and recognize when assistance is needed.
  • Communicate member requests or concerns promptly to the appropriate server or manager.
  • Assist servers with large parties, multiple courses, and high-volume service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pass and service area.
  • Assist with clearing plates and resetting tables when appropriate.
  • Keep service stations stocked and organized throughout the shift.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties and other assigned side work.
  • Support the Server and Server Assistant teams during busy periods.
  • Assist with private events, member functions, and special dining experiences.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and temperature-control standards.
  • Handle food, plates, and service equipment safely and professionally.
  • Maintain a polished appearance and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Maintain discretion and respect member privacy.
