About The Position

This role involves completing opening and closing duties, which include setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and securing the premises. The position requires stocking and maintaining work areas, including ice, glassware, and paper supplies, as well as removing soiled dishes from tables and the bar top. A key aspect of the job is maintaining the cleanliness and condition of work areas, the bar, and associated equipment according to established guidelines. The role also mandates adherence to all company policies regarding safety and security, reporting any accidents or unsafe conditions, and completing required safety training. Maintaining a professional appearance, ensuring confidentiality, and protecting company assets are also crucial. The Food Runner is expected to interact positively with guests, anticipate their needs, assist those with disabilities, and express genuine appreciation. Effective communication, positive working relationships with colleagues, and supporting team goals are essential. The job requires reading and understanding various information formats, and performing physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and manipulating objects of varying sizes and weights. Movement across different surfaces and performing actions like reaching, bending, twisting, and stooping are also part of the job duties, along with any other reasonable tasks assigned by supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Complete opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, locking doors, etc.
  • Check with captain or supervisor before leaving at end of shift.
  • Set up, stock, and maintain work areas.
  • Stock ice, glassware, and paper supplies.
  • Remove soiled wares from bar top and tables.
  • Maintain cleanliness and condition of work areas, bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools, following all set-up guidelines.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
  • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs.
  • Assist individuals with disabilities.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
  • Support team to reach common goals.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
  • Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print).
