About The Position

This role involves two key functions: Food Runner and Food Expeditor. As a Food Runner, you will provide friendly, courteous, and efficient quality presentation of food and beverage service to all guests. This includes knowing table numbers, stations, and floor plans, assisting servers with beverages and food delivery, clearing and cleaning tables, checking and filling table condiments, setting tables, assisting guests, and performing other food service related duties including general cleaning and setup. As a Food Expeditor, you will execute service to customers in a timely fashion, acting as a liaison between management, wait staff, and kitchen personnel to ensure guests receive their food on a priority basis. You will ensure all food leaving the kitchen meets The Big Easy standard and reaches the guest promptly. Additional duties include assisting with food preparation, replenishing service lines, reviewing production schedules, stocking stations, maintaining a clean and sanitary work area, and properly closing the kitchen area. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 2+ years of food runner / expeditor experience in a high volume restaurant
  • Must be able to obtain the appropriate state occupational license
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Must have strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to stand consecutively for 8 hours
  • Will be required to work a flexible schedule which includes nights, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Provides friendly, courteous and efficient quality presentation of food and beverage service to all guests
  • Knows all table numbers, stations and floor plans
  • Assists server as needed in serving beverages and delivering food to tables
  • Clears and cleans tables following guest departures
  • Checks table condiments and fill if necessary
  • Sets table with appropriate utensils and other necessary items
  • Assists guests as necessary
  • Performs other food service related duties, including general cleaning and set up
  • Executes service to customers in a timely fashion
  • Act as a liaison between management, wait staff, and kitchen personnel to ensure that guests receive their food on a priority basis
  • Ensures that all food leaving the kitchen is to The Big Easy standard and reaches the guest promptly
  • Assists with food preparation when needed
  • Replenishes service lines as necessary
  • Reviews production schedule to determine food requirements, including variety and quantity of food for preparation
  • Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at stations to ensure a smooth service period
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area
  • Closes the kitchen area properly and follows the closing checklist
  • Assists others in closing
