Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field; however, an Associate's degree diploma with extensive experience is accepted.
  • Proven experience in food production management or a similar role is essential, with a minimum of 5 years.
  • A Strong understanding of food safety regulations (like HACCP, GMP), quality control standards, and production methodologies is crucial.
  • Proficiency in using production management software and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are highly valued.
  • ServSafe, SQF, or NYC food safety certificate, required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement production schedules, considering resource availability, demand, and deadlines.
  • Establish and enforce strict adherence to food safety regulations (like HACCP and GMP) and quality control standards throughout the production process.
  • Lead, train, and supervise production staff, fostering teamwork and ensuring adherence to procedures and regulations.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, ensuring timely ordering and minimizing storage costs.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal operational performance.
  • Develop and manage production budgets, control costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Liaise with other departments, such as quality assurance, supply chain, sales, and marketing, to ensure smooth operations and alignment with company goals and customer requirements.
  • Address and resolve production-related issues promptly and efficiently to minimize disruptions.
