Operates cash register. Cleans tables, Dining Room equipment, and utensils.

Requirements

  • Food service/preparation, customer service or related experience/equivalent training preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions operates cash register, make change, and interpret price lists and recipes.
  • Exposed to heat, wetness, fumes, solutions, and other similar elements.
  • Subject to cuts, burns, etc.
  • Light to moderate lifting.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and restocks Dining Room tables.
  • Cleans and sanitizes food stations and equipment; completes daily sanitation assignments.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized.
  • Operates cash register during meal periods and bake sales; collects money; dispenses change.
  • Counts receipts and prepares cash deposits; assures cash register variances are within standards.
  • Sets up and garnishes food, non-food, and beverage lines.
  • Answers questions pertaining to food, ingredients, and diet restrictions.
  • Prepares menu boards before meals.
  • Participates in coordinating activities and menus for special event days.
  • Assures assigned Dining Room areas are maintained, replenished, and backed up throughout meal service.
  • Assures assigned Dining Room areas are ready for service to begin on time.
  • Complies with regulatory requirements; maintains established departmental policies and procedures, including those pertaining to infection control, quality assurance, and safety.
  • Sets up display plates, display menu board, and point of sales cards for items on daily menus.
  • Strives to achieve excellence of service as described in the CARE Manual.
  • Responds to the following Shore Health System codes: Code Red (in the immediate area), Code Pink (when called), Code D (when called).
  • Responsible for honest behavior in all matters. To the best of the employee’s knowledge and understanding, complies with all Federal and State laws and regulations.
  • Maintains the privacy and security of all confidential and protected health information. Uses and discloses only that information which is necessary to perform the function of the job.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
