About The Position

The Food Prep position is a full-time role with availability for day and evening shifts. The primary focus is on food merchandising, customer service, maintaining facility conditions, and administrative tasks. This role involves ensuring products are stocked, displayed attractively, and priced correctly, while also preparing and serving quality food and beverages. Maintaining a safe and clean work environment, including food preparation areas and equipment, is crucial. The position also requires attending meetings, fostering cooperation, and performing duties with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18 years old.
• Ability to work as scheduled including arriving to work on time.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
• Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described below.
• Ability to work in the conditions described below.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in retail sales preferred.
• Ability to perform the four (4) basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all grocery deliveries are accurate, stocked, attractively displayed, and priced correctly.
• Completes build-to’s for ordering/purchasing merchandise.
• Maintains inventory by checking in delivery, pricing items, and stocking merchandise according to schematic.
• Validates deliveries by verifying invoices and reviewing discrepancies with the Store Manager.
• Prepares displays by assembling, dating, and price marking in-store displays.
• Rotates food items, monitoring quality and freshness to protect customers from illness.
• Monitors and maintains the food preparation area and display cases to attract and retain customers.
• Assists in training new associates, emphasizing excellent customer service.
• Monitors and organizes inventory to prevent stockouts.
• Provides prompt, excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly, and attentive manner.
• Greets customers as they enter and thanks them as they leave.
• Resolves or assists in resolving routine customer concerns within established guidelines.
• Reports to work on time and follows the dress and appearance code.
• Prepares and serves quality food and beverages to satisfy customer needs.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Sweeps and mops floors, dusts and/or washes windows, counters, displays, store areas, and bathrooms.
• Picks up and disposes of trash, litter, or debris.
• Inspects store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order.
• Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains food service equipment.
• Attends job-related meetings.
• Maintains intradepartmental work flow by fostering a spirit of cooperation.
• Complies with company policies and procedures.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Performs all duties with minimal supervision.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
