About The Position

The Food Prep position is a part-time role responsible for ensuring grocery deliveries are accurate, stocked, attractively displayed, and priced correctly. This role involves maintaining inventory, preparing displays, rotating food items to ensure quality and freshness, and assisting with training new associates. The position also requires providing excellent customer service, preparing quality food and beverages, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Administrative duties include attending meetings, fostering cooperation, and complying with company policies. The role requires minimal supervision and may involve other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18 years old.
• Ability to work as scheduled including arriving to work on time.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
• Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described below.
• Ability to work in the conditions described below.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in retail sales preferred.
• Ability to perform the four (4) basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring all grocery deliveries are accurate, stocked, attractively displayed, and priced correctly.
• Completing build-to’s for ordering/purchasing merchandise.
• Maintaining inventory by checking in delivery, pricing items, and stocking merchandise according to schematic.
• Validating deliveries by verifying invoices and reviewing discrepancies with the Store Manager.
• Preparing displays by assembling, dating, and price marking in-store displays.
• Rotating food items, monitoring quality and freshness measures to protect customers from illness.
• Monitoring and maintaining the food preparation area and display cases to attract and retain customers.
• Assisting in training new associates with an emphasis on excellent customer service.
• Monitoring and organizing inventory to prevent being out of stock on items.
• Providing prompt, excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly, and attentive manner.
• Greeting customers as they enter the area and thanking them as they leave.
• Resolving or assisting to resolve routine customer concerns within established guidelines.
• Reporting to work on time and following the dress and appearance code.
• Preparing and serving quality food and beverage to satisfy customer needs.
• Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Sweeping and mopping or cleaning floors.
• Dusting and/or washing windows, counters, displays, store areas, and bathrooms.
• Picking up and disposing of trash, litter, or debris.
• Inspecting store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order.
• Cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining food service equipment.
• Attending job-related meetings.
• Maintaining intradepartmental work flow by fostering a spirit of cooperation.
• Complying with company policies and procedures.
• Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Performing all duties with minimal supervision.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
