About The Position
The Food Prep Cook assists workers engaged in preparing food for banquets. This is an on-call position with no minimum hours guaranteed for any day, week, or month.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Available to work on-call nights and weekends.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
Responsibilities
- Wash, peel, cut, and seed vegetables and fruits.
- Clean, cut, and grind meats, poultry, and seafood.
- Dip food items in crumbs, flour, and batter to bread them.
- Stir and strain soups and sauces.
- Weigh and measure designated ingredients according to standardized recipes.
- Carry pans, kettles, and food trays to and from workstations, stoves, and refrigerators.
- Store foods in designated areas.
- Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils; segregate and remove garbage; and steam-clean or hose garbage containers.
- Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
- Record food and supplies used in an inventory log.
- Adhere to health, sanitary, and safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
