About The Position

The Food Pantry Team Lead supports the daily operations of the Heber City Food Pantry, providing direct leadership to staff and volunteers, overseeing receiving and stocking workflows, ensuring compliance with food safety and Utah Food Bank guidelines, and supporting the Deputy Director of Food Security. This role models CCPC’s mission and creates a welcoming, efficient, and organized environment for all clients and donors.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a food pantry or similar community resource environment (internal experience strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience overseeing staff or volunteers.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to stay composed, organized, and solutions-focused in a fast-paced setting.
  • Clean Driving Record and ability to drive CCPC vehicles.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Work as a team leader and communicate with honesty, integrity and sensitivity to the needs and differences of diverse cultures.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to pantry staff and volunteers.
  • Help create schedules and ensure adequate coverage and smooth workflow.
  • Promote a positive, mission-centered team culture.
  • Manage daily activity of the Heber Food Pantry, including general customer service, food distribution, and customer registration/intake, while maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the pantry.
  • Oversee receiving of food donations and deliveries; ensure items meet CCPC and Utah Food Bank standards.
  • Sort and stock food items using proper food safety and rotation practices (FIFO/FEFO).
  • Maintain organized receiving, storage, and distribution areas.
  • Operate register with accuracy and precision.
  • Monitor inventory levels, track volume and waste, and communicate needs or shortages to leadership.
  • Coordinate restocking of shelves and preparation for Mobile Pantry, Farmacy, and other distribution programs.
  • Work closely with the transportation team to ensure smooth movement of donations and deliveries.
  • Enter monthly data and complete necessary reports.
  • Coordinate with Deputy Director and assist Park City Pantry as needed.
  • Oversee client intake and registration with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ensure pantry rules and food bank guidelines are followed by staff, volunteers, and clients.
  • Provide kind, respectful, and mission-aligned service to all pantry visitors.
  • Interact with donors and partner agencies with professionalism and gratitude; escalate concerns as needed.
  • Inspire team and volunteers with a positive and generous attitude.
  • Assist the Deputy Director of Food Security with program coordination, reporting needs, and special initiatives.
  • Support seasonal food drives, holiday distributions, and emergency response events.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, financial integrity protocols, and internal CCPC standards.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client, staff, and organizational information.
  • Represent CCPC positively in all interactions.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Deputy Director of Food Security.
